Low self-confidence can be triggered in many different ways.
The problem is once that initial trigger is fired, a downward spiral begins that becomes increasingly harder to break out of. Low self-confidence is self-perpetuating. Over time everything starts to be seen as a negative in your life which means you forgot about the positive and miss all the great opportunities out in the world.
The first cause of low self-confidence is normally blamed on the family. From the moment you were born right through your childhood, your parents would have shaped your world for you. If you parents were very strict or mean to you then your ability to be highly confidence was never developed in the first place. Before you know it, you are 18, out in the real world with no support network and feeling very lonely. And your lack of development through your youth means you do not have the skills need to take on the world and take advantage of all those positive opportunities.
The second cause of low self-confidence could be the break down of a relationship. Friends turn their back on you or a partner leaves you. It is a significant trauma to you that puts negative tinted glasses onto your view of the world.
Again this chance to your life means normality has been ripped out from underneath you. What was your support network has now become your enemy leaving you with no positive focus in sight.
The third cause of low self-confidence could be as a result of making a mistake. Maybe a poor decision cost you some significant. Without meaning to make a mistake you caused a significant event that means your confidence became severely knocked.
All three of these causes of low self-confidence turn your life on a very negative angle. You can end up being constantly knocked down and walked all over by other people. Instead of stepping up and facing the problem head on, you end up shying away and letting the problem grow in size both in reality and in your own mind.
Your life is not about having low confidence, low self-esteem or having anxieties that put your stress levels through the roof.
